Countries with Multiple National Animals
Pakistan, Finland, India, and Mexico each have more than four national animals. Pakistan has six distinct animals and is the only country with a national predator; the Snow leopard.
Some countries even share the same national or heraldic animal as other countries. There is one animal 17 different countries list as their national symbol. Plus, more countries than you might think are represented by mythical creatures.
The Japanese macaque is the national animal of Japan, and they're also known as snow monkeys in some parts of the country. You can see macaques in parks basically nationwide, but they like to take baths in Japanese onsen (hotsprings) in Japan's colder regions, like Shiga Kogen in Nagano.
Mexico's national animal is the majestic golden eagle. The country's arresting coat of arms even depicts a Mexican golden eagle perched on a prickly pear cactus devouring a rattlesnake.
